Stop Tererro Mine Campaign

Post-Production Producer & Editor, Winter 2020

The Stop Tererro Mine Campaign is a CAVU media initiative to raise awareness about proposed exploratory mining in the Pecos Valley of New Mexico. This area is still recovering from irresponsible mining operations that contaminated the river in the 1990's causing over 90,000 fish to be killed and millions of taxpayer dollars spent for cleanup. CAVU is working with a coalition of local residents and organizations to oppose new proposed mining in the Pecos, New Mexico's backyard.

This campaign includes short films capturing the perspectives of local residents and organizations that are affected by the possibility of mining in the Pecos and an interactive story map.

CAVU uses visual storytelling and community engagement to support local solutions to the global climate problem. As a nonprofit working across the North American West, CAVU uniquely blends science and personal stories to reconnect people with each other and the planet they live on. We believe elevating diverse voices is an antidote to prejudice, partisanship, and cynicism when working on environmental and social justice issues.
